Ventro: Winners of the Plymouth Herald Business Awards 2017

The Plymouth Herald Business Awards is a prestigious glitzy event set up to recognise businesses in and around the South West. This year Ventro were not just lucky enough to have been shortlisted for two awards, but came away as winners and highly commended.

On Thursday 20th April 2017, this years’ Plymouth Herald Business Awards were held at Plymouth Pavilions. A celebratory evening for all, both shortlists, sponsors, winners and runners-up. Everyone goes away with their heads held high as it is a real honour to get recognised for such achievements.

Little did we know what we were in for.

Ventro has come so far in such little time. Founded in November 2013, we have gone from working out of a shed in a back garden to a company whose turnover is somewhat impressive, located in an office based up in one of the South West’s main business trading estates, Faraday Mill Trade Park.

We’ve worked with some fantastic clients in the Healthcare, Social Housing, and Hospitality industries which are located all over the country, Mecca Bingo, Jury’s Inn, Radisson Blu Hotels, Southampton Football Club, NHS, Age UK, Devonport Dockyard, just to name a few.

Ross and Harvey Melvin, Directors of Ventro, were shortlisted and winners of the Young Business Person of the Year Award which was sponsored by Tamar Telecommunications.

Harvey Melvin quoted, “It was such an honour to get to the shortlist for the Plymouth Herald Awards, let alone winning an award. Having been up against such fantastic companies here in the UK is beyond what we ever could have imagined.” Harvey added, “This wouldn’t be possible without such a fantastic team and customers who have stood by us throughout.”

Ross Melvin added, “We were also highly commended for the Family Run Business of the Year which is a great achievement, something we can also be proud of”.

We have some big plans for this year which includes moving to a larger business premises, so stay tuned as all will soon be revealed.
