Supporting Apprenticeships

1. Why did you choose to join Ventro for your apprenticeship?

I choose Ventro as I was intrigued by the way I would be interacting with clients even as small as chasing them up for documents and small details. I also find quite interesting that Ventro as a fire safety company its quite unique, for me anyway as something i do not see often from businesses.

2. Upon the competition of your Apprenticeship will you get any type of certification? If so, what was the title of it?

A business admin level 3 certificate which I believe is equivalent to an A level.

3. Can you give me a brief overview about your job role and how you think the apprenticeship has helped you to gain a better insight on what you would like to do with your career?

In my job role I help the HR team once they get a business or sole trader to register with us I then move them to the appropriate database. As well as this any tasks such as ID badges, printing documents, chasing details and making staff handbooks to reduce the workload for the team. It has helped me see that I enjoy working closely with clients and find it interesting seeing all the qualifications and different requirements each company needs.

4. What do you enjoy most about your role and how do you think Ventro support you?

I enjoy seeing about all the different trades of the sole traders and limited companies and what necessary qualifications each need as well as the type of documentation each provide.

1. Why did you choose to join Ventro for your apprenticeship?

I had failed my Business Studies Level 3 Diploma in Sixth Form and was determined to get at least another Level 3 qualification. I saw Ventro was offering an apprenticeship as an Estimator with a Business Administrator Level 3 course. Ventro had mentioned on their social media of Jake Eames and his progression throughout the business after completing his apprenticeship and I hoped I could replicate his successes.

2. Upon the competition of your Apprenticeship did you get any type of certification? If so, what was the title of it?

I received a certificate to certify that I had passed my ‘Business Administrator Level 3’ Apprenticeship.

3. Can you give me a brief overview about your job role/progression story and how you think the apprenticeship helped shape your career path?

At the time of joining Ventro I was one of two estimators within the company, so I was thrust into the job immediately. The apprenticeship part of the role was provided by the school Skills Group which intertwined with my daily tasks at Ventro.

The apprenticeship allowed me to point out areas within my role that needed improving which helped shape the estimating team into what it is now. I haven’t had much in terms of progression due to enjoying the role, despite that, since joining I have increased my knowledge about fire safety exponentially with CPD’s and courses, and I currently have my sights set on better understanding the designing aspect of Fire Alarm systems with the help of Ventro’s facilities and FIA Courses.

1. Why did you choose to join Ventro for your apprenticeship?

I chose Ventro for my apprenticeship when looking for somewhere to do my Level 3 Business Administration Course. Ventro were looking for Apprentices and after doing research and seeing the sector we work in, I thought that it would be a great company to work for.

2. Upon the competition of your Apprenticeship did you get any type of certification? If so, what was the title of it?

When I completed my Apprenticeship, I obtained a Business Administration Level 3.

3. Can you give me a brief overview about your job role/progression story and how you think the apprenticeship helped shape your career path?

I currently work in the estimating department, pricing various sized job across the housing sector for clients.

Job progression wise – I was an apprentice for two years and am now working towards becoming a Senior Estimator.  

The apprenticeship has shaped my career as without it, I doubt that I would’ve found myself working in this sector, which I thoroughly enjoy.
