Mental Health in the Workplace

Ventro decided to train a select number of staff to become Mental health First Aiders. This course by Mental health First Aid (MHFA) is designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first-aid basis. Introducing this in the organisation, it encourages people to talk more freely about mental health, reducing stigma and creating a more positive culture.

Socials + Mental first aider-05

A statement from the MHFA England, 'Together we will create a society where everyone's mental health matters.' They are out to accomplish a society where all can thrive and have an environment of zero stigma surrounding mental health. With the MHFA England's training programme, they are equipping people with the skills they need to support their own and others' wellbeing.

It's time to start transforming workplace mental health. Most adults spend at least a third of their time at work. It is time to start changing how society deals with mental health now and in the future. By providing in-house training for staff members, it allows us to maintain a mentally healthy workplace for those who are in it.

Mental health is very important at all stages of life, and in everyone. It can affect us in numerous ways and also affects everyone differently.

Personally, I think it is so important to look after your own mental health but also have an awareness of how to assist others in dealing with theirs, and this is why becoming a mental health first aider is so important to me.
