Fire protection on the outside of a building is just as important as the inside of a building. It is important that buildings are constructed using a fire rated cladding system which has been fitted correctly so no voids are created.
The National Fire Protection Association’s report states that unprotected vertical and horizontal penetrations is a major contributing cause for rapid, erratic spreading of smoke and fire. These openings allow smoke to spread beyond the room in questions.
Fire dampers are another key component of your passive fire protection. These are mainly used in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to prevent the spread of fire inside the ductwork. This prevents the free passage of fire and smoke by creating a diversion within the fire damper.
Our doors come in a variety of different glazes and finishes – including Oak, Flush, Cherry, Walnut and Ash. Fire doors are 45mm thick, compared to the standard door thickness of 35mm
